I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and emigrated to the United States when I was eighteen years of age, leaving behind, as so many of us, friends, family, and places that we loved./Nací en Buenos Aires, Argentina, y emigré a los Estados Unidos a los diez y ocho años de edad. Como tantos de nosotros, dejé atrás amigos, familia, y lugares que amé.
I was always interested in the power of visual images, and I travelled through Latin America, where I learned about so many stories of struggle and hope. Some are included in my documentaries, screened at numerous national and international festivals./Siempre he estado interesada en el poder de las imágenes visuales, y viajé a través de varios países de América Latina, donde escuché tantas historias de lucha y esperanza! Algunas de estas están incluídas en mis documentales, los cuales se han exhibido en numerosos festivales internacionales.
I have taught Cinema Studies at Ramapo College of New Jersey for twenty-five years, and I am now exploring new roads – “nuevos caminos.” I intend to reveal some of them in this website, a work-in-progress, as most of our lives are./Durante veinticinco años he enseñado Estudios Cinematográficos en Ramapo College, y ahora estoy explorando nuevos caminos. When I visit other places I think about the complexity of the human condition. So many differences, so many similarities! I want in this site to observe peoples in relationship to places, nature and the arts, and to arrive to a deeper understanding of these experiences./Cuando visito otros lugares pienso en la complejidad de la condición humana. Tantas diferencias, tantas similitudes! Quiero en este sitio observar a las personas en relación a lugares, naturaleza y a las artes, y de esa manera tener un entendimiento mas profundo de estas experiencias.
